The Human Rights Foundation Turkey holds the government responsible for the latest violence excesses against striking workers and union members. The foundation described the recent incidents as a "standstill of the law".

Hanka Heumakers and Franny Parren from TIE-Netherlands participated in the Women Workers’ Summit 2009 that took place from 9-10 December in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Summit was organized by the Committee of Asian Women (CAW) and brought together women from more than 15 Asian countries. The objective was to discuss the impact of the economic crisis on women workers and to explore strategies of women at the frontline of sustainable solutions. TIE-Netherlands together with TIE-Asia facilitated the participation of three Mexican colleagues from CJM (Coalición pro Justicia en las Maquiladoras).

İşverenlerin örgütlü sendikal mücadeleyi bastırmak için tezgâhladığı senaryolarla DİSK/Nakliyat-İş Sendikası ve yöneticilerinin yasal/Anayasal hak ve özgürlüklerinin engellenmesini ve sendikamız üzerindeki baskıları protesto etmek ve gelişmelerle ilgili olarak kamuoyunu bilgilendirmek için 8 Aralık Salı günü 11:00’da Topkapı Ambarlar Sitesi’nde bir basın açıklaması yapıldı.

Recently ITUA shop floor organizations and their members have faced increasing pressure from government authorities, particularly from the local Departments for the Prevention of Extremism created by the Investigative Committee at the Public Prosecutor's Office, local Prosecutor’s Offices themselves and from the Departments of Internal Affairs. Pressure from employers has also increased.

Steun de Turkse metaalarbeiders!

Ruim 350 werknemers van de metaalfabriek Sinter in Turkije zijn ontslagen nadat ze lid zijn geworden van een vakbond. Steun deze mensen in hun strijd tegen ongelijkheid met een donatie via de Internationale Metaalarbeiders Federatie (IMF).
