  Wat is TIE-Netherlands? TIE–Netherlands is een non-profit organisatie die zich inzet voor opbouw en versterking van een onafhankelijke en democratische vakbeweging wereldwijd. TIE-Netherlands maakt deel uit van een onafhankelijk internationaal netwerk dat zich toelegt op scholing, advies en ondersteuning voor vakbondsactivisten.
TIE-Netherlands is a non-profit organisation which is committed to the advancement and strengthening of independent and democratic trade unionism. TIE-Netherlands is part of an independent international network which works to educate, advice and support trade union activists.
Samen met deze partners en lokale organisaties (vakbonden en basisorganisaties van werknemers) voert TIE-Netherlands in verschillende landen en regio’s projecten uit. In Nederland werkt TIE-Netherlands nauw samen met FNV Bondgenoten, de grootste vakbond van Nederland (bijna 500.000 leden).
Belangrijke aandachtspunten in het werk van TIE zijn:
- Vakbondsdemocratie
- Vrijheid van vakbondsorganisatie
- Empowerment van werknemers en werkneemsters
- Verzet tegen neoliberalisme
- Vrijhandelszones en privatisering
- Internationale solidariteit.
Wat vindt TIE-Netherlands?
TIE-Netherlands ziet armoede als een probleem dat voortkomt uit een ongelijke verdeling van macht, middelen en kennis. Vakbonden zijn deel van de sociale beweging die opkomt voor de rechten van de onderkant van de samenleving. Door samenwerking kunnen werknemers en hun organisaties macht opbouwen gebaseerd op solidariteit, rechtvaardigheid en gelijkwaardigheid. Werknemers vormen de basis van de maatschappelijke welvaart. Uiteindelijk profiteren echter vooral anderen van deze rijkdom. Werknemers verzetten zich tegen deze uitbuiting en eisen maatschappelijke rechtvaardigheid. Hun strijd is echter ook een dagelijkse noodzaak. Het gaat om hun eigen gezondheid, inkomen en leven. TIE-Netherlands richt zich zowel op de versterking van de werknemers zelf als op de opbouw van een bredere maatschappelijk beweging.
TIE-centra ontwikkelen met hun lokale partnerorganisaties projecten.
Deze projecten zijn gericht op:
- Scholing van werknemers en vakbondsvertegenwoordigers
- Uitwisseling van ervaringen en informatie tussen werknemers en vakbondsvertegenwoordigers uit verschillende landen
- Het gezamenlijk uitwerken en uitvoeren van vakbondsstrategieën
- Ook ondersteunt TIE internationale solidariteitsacties als antwoord op het beleid van multinationals.

TIE-Netherlands is a non-profit organisation which is committed to the advancement and strengthening of independent, combative and pluralist trade unionism. TIE-Netherlands is part of an independent international network which works to educate, advice and support trade union activists.
In co-operation with these partners and local organisations (trade unions and local organisations of employees), TIE-Netherlands carries out projects in several countries and regions. In the Netherlands, TIE-Netherlands works closely together with FNV-Bondgenoten, the largest trade union of the Netherlands.
Important points of focus in TIE’s work are:
- Democratisation of trade unions
- Freedom of trade union organisation
- Empowerment of employees
- Resistance against neo-liberalism, free trade zones and privatisation
- International solidarity
What does TIE-Netherlands stand for?
TIE-Netherlands considers poverty a problem that originates from an unequal division of power, resources and knowledge. Trade unions are part of the social movement that defends the rights of the lower end of society. Through cooperation, employees and their organisations can build power based on solidarity, justice and equivalence.
Employees form the basis of social prosperity. However, primarily other people eventually benefit from this wealth created. Employees resist this exploitation and demand social justice. But their struggle is also a daily necessity. It is about their own health, income and life. TIE-Netherlands focuses on the strengthening of the employees themselves, as well as on the advancement of a broader social power.
TIE-centres develop projects in cooperation with their local partner organisations.
These projects are aimed at:
- Education of employees and trade union representatives
- Exchange of experiences and information between employees and trade union representatives from various countries
- The joint development and execution of trade union strategies
- TIE also supports actions of solidarity in response to the policy of multinationals
